The following is a list of the current Board Members and Committee Members who serve the CIA.
Laurie Schachtner, President
Dr. Laurie Schachtner holds a PhD in Applied Management from Walden University and a Masters of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago, IL. She is the Director of Presence Saint Joseph Hospital’s Medical Imaging and Cancer Center in Elgin Illinois – a Chicago suburban hospital. She is an adjunct faculty professor at Aurora University who teaches both undergraduate and graduate business classes. Dr. Schachtner is an innovative executive in healthcare leadership with vast experiences providing project leadership and financial expertise. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Laurie is a Certified Radiology Administrator. She is a boarded Radiologic Technologist and Mammographer.

Debra Caruso, Board Member, Past President 2015-2016
Debra Caruso - I have been a Radiology Professional for over 30 years, all of which have been at Westlake Hospital located in Melrose Park. Over the years I have been very fortunate to have received the opportunity of career advancement in an institution that valued and mentored staff from within. I began my career as a staff technologist and soon after became interested in the field of CT, a newer technology at the time. I completed several evening educational courses at Loyola University on this modality and was soon active in the planning and installation of the first CT unit at Westlake Hospital. I have always had a strong work ethic and believed that loving the work you do will result in positive outcomes. I most currently hold the position of Medical Imaging Director for the last 12 years. My responsibilities include the oversight of day to day operations, budgeting process, revenue capture, performance improvement initiatives as well as customer focused services. I value a team environment and networking opportunities to gain insight on the emerging challenges affecting healthcare today. The time I have spent over the last few years with the College of Imaging Administrators as a committee member and as a board member have been valuable and enlightening. It is so rewarding to find so many passionate professionals in one room with the focus of promoting professional and career growth.
Michael DiVarco, Board Member, Past President 2016-2017/Webmaster
Michael DiVarco - Bachelors prepared health care leader with over 20 years in leadership and 30 years in medical imaging, both in hospital and outpatient environments. I have served as Lead Technologist to Director of Operations. I have facilitated the opening of new imaging services, as well as supported Oncology and Radiation Therapy. I also own a mobile disc jockey company servicing the Chicagoland area for 20+ years. I am a Blues Harmonica player, and am the organizer of the Chicago Harmonica Meetup with 300+ members. I love riding my Harley with my son.

Heidi Lalowski, Board Member
Heidi Lalowski - Heidi holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Greenville University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Judson University in Elgin, Illinois. She is the manager of AMITA Health St. Joseph Hospital’s Medical Imaging department in Elgin, Illinois- A Chicago suburban hospital. Her specialty is Computed Tomography, and she has been involved in the acquisition and installation of imaging equipment over the past three years. Heidi has worked as a lead CT technologist, licensed massage therapist, and within various clinical nursing areas. She is a boarded CT technologist and is actively pursuing a Ph. D. in business with an emphasis on leadership.
Cecille Truver, Board Member
Cecille Truver - Cecille holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of St. Francis with over 25 years of healthcare experience. She is currently the Director of Imaging at AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center Bolingbrook.
Cecille started her medical imaging career as an x-ray technologist at the Bolingbrook Medical Center, which was a free-standing emergency department, affectionally known as the Little ER on the Prairie. Within 3 years at the Medical Center, Cecille became the manager of the Radiology Department expanding additional radiology services on campus, transitioning to PACS and the implementation of RIS. Years later the State of Illinois approved the CON for Bolingbrook to build the first new hospital in Illinois since 1974. Cecille was an integral part of the original planning and implementation team which opened AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center Bolingbrook in 2008.

Timothy Musacchio, Past President, 2018-2019
Timothy Musacchio – 22 years of healthcare experience, with 15 years of management experience. Began career in radiography and then advanced to multiple positions supporting PACS, including the implementation of PACS at two different institutions. Currently the director of imaging and cardiology services at AMITA Health Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in Chicago.
Jeff Lynch, Committee Member, Past President 2012-2013
Jeff Lynch - Masters prepared healthcare professional with over twenty years of experience in all areas of diagnostic imaging leadership. Areas of strength are: budget preparation, capital equipment justification, new product line development and human resource management. Skilled in interdepartmental collaboration to enhance patient care and improving operational efficiencies. Experienced and successful in healthcare IT project management from kick off to completion.
Gayle Kleck, Board Member
Gayle Kleck - One of the founders of the CIA. I have been in the radiology field for fifty-five years. Administrative Director for thirty years in free standing centers and hospitals. I have opened several free standing CT/MRI Centers.
